Is drug use negatively affecting your family, work, finances and/or relationships? Do you have trouble controlling how much or how often you’re using? If you’ve answered YES, you’re probably already dependent on drugs and need help.

Getting and staying sober is very challenging, but with
the right support network and tools, it’s completely attainable.

DRUG WITHDRAWAL

When someone suddenly stops or decreases the regular dosage of a drug they’ve been talking, they’ll most likely experience a set of symptoms called withdrawal. These withdrawal symptoms can be both physical and/or psychological, depending on the drug/s being consumed.

Withdrawal is NOT the same for everyone. Some factors that contribute to when withdrawal starts, how severe it is, and how long symptoms last, are:

The signs and symptoms of withdrawal vary greatly from one drug to the next. Withdrawal from some drugs like benzodiazepines, opioids, and alcohol are notoriously painful and in some cases life threatening.

General drug withdrawal symptoms may include: Shakiness, loss of appetite, nausea, insomnia, anxiety, sweating, headaches, irritability and depression, these symptoms can vary in intensity based on the level and length of the addiction.

Unfortunately, the only way out of withdrawal is GOING THROUGH IT. However, you don’t have to go through it on your own. We highly recommend a supervised detox at a medical facility!

DRUG DETOX

Drug Detox is a critical first step before transitioning into rehab. It’s the process of eliminating drugs and their toxins from the body. The aim of detox is to get you both physically and mentally stable enough to begin treatment.

These drugs are considered some of the hardest to quit. It’s not recommended to stop using them “cold turkey” or suddenly, without professional help:

  • Heroin and prescription painkillers
  • Cocaine
  • Methamphetamine & Crystal Meth
  • Benzodiazepines
  • Alcohol

Restore, Incorporated works with trusted drug detox facilities in the area to help make your withdrawal safer and less uncomfortable.

  • A safe and supportive environment for patients
  • Typically drug detox lasts about 5-12 days
  • Medical professionals always present to monitor patients
  • Medications may be used to help ease withdrawal symptoms
